" It's been beyond a bad week for Dior designer John Galliano, who was suspended from his post as head of the fashion house on February 25.
The British raised designer, 50, had been arrested in Paris on charges of assault and making anti-Semitic remarks to fellow patrons at a Parisian café. 'Incitement to racial hatred' is a crime in France, and punishable by up to six months in prison.
Galliano allegedly pulled a woman's hair before telling her she had a 'dirty Jew face.' Soon after, a video of a separate incident surfaced of Galliano telling drinkers "People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f**king gassed."
If that wasn't incriminating enough, the designer then declared 'I love Hitler'.
Nicole Kidman and Sharon Stone both wore Dior to the Academy Awards on Monday, but both refused to engage in conversation about the designer's troubles.
Best Actress winner Natalie Portman is also the face of perfume Miss Dior Cherie. The actress had no comment on Galliano in the press room after the Oscars, but had this to say later in the week.
'I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano's comments that surfaced today,' the actress said in a statement.
'In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr Galliano in any way.
'I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.'
The actress was born Natalie Hershlag in Jerusalem. Portman, her grandmother's maiden name, is her stage name.
Soon after, Galliano was fired from his $8m a year position as the head of Dior. The fashion house's show at Paris Fashion Week went ahead - but with not one celebrity, bar Vogue editor Anna Wintour, in the front row.
The French firm made a statement that it 'firmly condemned' Galliano's behaviour.
The designer has since fled to Meadows, a rehab favoured by celebrities, in Arizona. Can you be cured of being an obnoxious anti-Semite?
A source told UK paper The Daily Mail that Galliano is 'obsessed' with his own Jewish roots.
